Constellation Square

The mosaic of 250 thousand tiles that reflects the celestial vault

Inaugurated on April 16, 2015, Constellation Square is a public and permanent work of art, a mosaic of 250 thousand blue ceramic tiles signed by thousands of Expo visitors and even by the Dalai Lama.
Symbol of the celestial vault and the constellation of Aquarius, crossed by a “milky way”, the mosaic is also clearly visible from above and at night. A “collective and participatory” work, designed by the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and created with the collaboration of 120 students of the Academy.

A collection of testimonies that becomes a work of art

The first projects of Constellation Square, dated 2013, have been a reason for comparisons, discussions and changes for a couple of years. In the end, Constellation Square has become real, making the Rhp City more fascinating: a work of art created by the citizens of the world, will forever remain a tangible, original and unrepeatable sign of their passage. Constellation Square becomes a collection of testimonies, including those of illustrious and representative personalities of international society; at the same time it tells the sense of belonging to the nation through quotes from great artists and scientists.
