Villa Burba Festival 2026
Sunday, March 29, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Joseph, the Villa Burba Festival will be held, an afternoon of guided tours on the history and architecture of Villa Burba organized by the Tourist Infopoint and the Biblioteca Popolare, with activities of all kinds open to both adults and children. Performers dressed in period costumes will also be present throughout the festival to enliven the tours. The guided tours will start from the Noble Courtyard, and no reservation will be required to participate. In fact, under the Portico, to the left of the entrance of the Fireplace Room, at the Biblioteca Popolare’s booth, registrations will be collected, and participants will be divided into groups of about 15/20 people, with departures every 40 minutes, divided into three time slots: 15:10, 15:50, and 16:30. The guided tours will lead visitors to discover the areas of the Villa, starting from the Courtyard of Honor, with an introduction to the history and architecture of the Villa, continuing to the Portico, the Former Oratory of St. Joseph, with a digression on the history of “the St. Joseph that doesn’t exist,” the Rustic Courtyard, and the Column Room, where the exhibition “Legality in the Eyes of Girls and Boys” will be displayed; after this stop, visitors will go out to the Historic Garden, with a guided tour of the Villa’s green spaces, and then visit other areas of the interior: the Fireplace Room, the Mirror Room, the Grand Staircase, and the Adult Library areas, the Loan Room, and the Fossa Room. Concluding the visit, attendees will participate in a reading curated by Maddalena Vodola and organized by the Adult Library, with texts taken from “A Room of One’s Own” by Virginia Woolf in the Library’s rooms, which will also host a space dedicated to board games in the gaming room. In the Franco Fossa Gallery, on the other hand, books previously donated to the library and discarded, as well as magazines from previous years, will be given to visitors. Of course, the Villa Burba Festival will also have several activities for children: the Treasure Hunt in the open spaces of the Villa, the Light Flowers workshop, the show Fanny Who Didn’t Know How to Dance organized by the association Caminante – Teatro Selvaggio, and the guided tour series Princes, Princesses, and Ghosts, which will end with a creative workshop in the children’s section of the Library. Reservations for the Treasure Hunt will be collected at the CentRho Tourist Infopoint in Piazza San Vittore during opening hours or by calling: 02 9333 2 223. To make a reservation for the show Fanny Who Didn’t Know How to Dance, write to caminanteaps@gmail.com or call: 351 634 8833.
