Short Out Festival – From July 17th to 19th in Lainate

The international short-film festival Short Out returns with its fifth edition!

After six days of screenings and events at Villa Litta in Lainate, the Short Out festival moves to the nearby municipality of Arese in Villa La Valera from July 17th to 19th.

The 2026 theme: “What Limits Us.”

An expression that holds together objects and boundaries, matter and relationship. The limit here does not separate, but rather is a threshold: a place where things act on people and people on things, where relationships, habits, and meanings are revealed and redefined.

Through screenings, meetings, performances, workshops, and co-creation practices, the fifth edition of Short Out is an invitation to reflect on the role of objects in our daily lives, an exploration of the margin as a living space where things are not just things but tell what we are, what we have been, and what we can become.
