Paths of Peace – “The war in the Middle East – The world after October 7, 2023”

Peace is not built with words, but through mutual knowledge and concrete gestures of fraternity. The Municipal Administration of Rho, Caritas Citta and the City Council of Migrants, who have been working on paths of peace for years, are organizing a series of events for the coming weeks aimed at allowing cultural insights and expressing the desire for peace, in the face of the conflicts that afflict the populations of many countries and that generate a general climate of concern for the future of all.
Attention is focused, in particular, on what is happening in Israel, Palestine and the Middle East. To better understand the situation in Gaza and the tensions that are being experienced, the director of Asia News Giorgio Bernardelli, who was already present in Rho on April 9, was invited, offering a lucid and detailed analysis of the situation that started from the history of a land tormented for over a century.
Giorgio Bernardelli, a journalist, also directs the magazine Mondo e Missione, a newspaper promoted by PIME. He has dedicated three books to the Holy Land: Gaza. Chained to a Dream (2005), Beyond the Wall (2005) and Antisemitism. A category out of control (2007). He curated the traveling exhibition Righteous of Islam on the forgotten stories of Muslims who saved the lives of some Jews during the Nazi persecution.
The appointment is scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2025 at 9 p.m. at the Conference Room in Piazza San Vittore 19. Title of the evening: “The war in the Middle East – The world after October 7, 2023”.
