Of Matter and Time

The exhibition “Of Matter and Time” comes from a research that weaves together memory, matter, and transformation, key elements in Andrea Bertoletti’s practice. Starting from an autobiographical perspective, the artist builds a language where recycled materials, natural elements, and traces of everyday life become tools to explore time and the emotional bond we form with objects, places, and what belongs to us. Matter thus becomes a witness to passage: it settles, wears down, transforms, and keeps traces of what once was. In the same way, memory does not stay still but layers, changes, and reemerges through fragments, images, and absences. “Of Matter and Time” reflects on what remains and what inevitably changes. Surfaces, shapes, and materials turn into sites of memory, capable of making visible what normally stays invisible: thoughts, memories, relationships, and vulnerabilities. The works thus become emotional containers where personal experience and collective memory meet, allowing what time does not erase, but transforms, to emerge. The exhibition will open on Saturday, October 3rd at 6:30 PM and will be open from October 3rd to 31st at the Quadrifoglio Art Gallery during the gallery’s opening hours.
