Villa Visconti Banfi: An Icon of Elegance
Located in the heart of Rho’s historic center, Villa Visconti Banfi stands majestically. Built in 1669 by Ercole Visconti, it was closely tied to the construction of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows, with its entrance aligned directly with the sanctuary via De Amicis Street.
Over the centuries, the villa underwent numerous transformations. In the 19th century, two elegant wings were added, followed by further expansions in the 20th century.
The villa boasts an extensive cycle of frescoes created by renowned artists Federico Bianchi and Giovanni Ghisolfi. Its garden, a tranquil oasis with classical statues and the remains of a round fountain, showcases the grandeur of Italian landscape design.
