Words and Music: Literary Cafè
For the Literary May series, 1583 Café has scheduled Words and Music, a new series of meetings in which the written word, read, recited, and commented on, becomes the protagonist. On Saturdays, May 16 and 30, starting at 4:00 PM, two commented readings are planned, taken from texts chosen specifically for the occasion: an excerpt from “A Clean, Well-Lighted Place” by Ernest Hemingway, performed by actors Gilberto Colla and Marco Pepe, and a passage from “The Hanged Man’s Shadow,” a historical noir set in seventeenth-century Rho, commented on by the authors Alfonso Airaghi and Paola Pessina.
