A Paper Christmas: Discovering the wonders of Historic Nativity Scenes

Once upon a time, there was paper. Humble, light, fragile, yet capable of holding dreams and colors for centuries. On it, patient hands have painted faces, landscapes, stars; hands that have cut out delicate shapes, figures that seem to dance in the air. Between the folds of this exhibition, those stories come to life again. Two-dimensional nativity scenes, born from art and ingenuity, open like pages of an ancient book. Some are elegant silhouettes, others intertwine with three-dimensional elements, creating scenes that seem to have stepped out of a fairy tale. And then there is the little church of Biringhello, which welcomes alongside it the figures of a nineteenth-century nativity scene: a meeting between past and present, between tradition and creativity. And precisely to dive into the charm of the history of nativity scenes, the San Marco Cultural Association has organized A Paper Christmas, a themed exhibition that will be inaugurated on Saturday, December 13 at 5:00 PM at the association’s headquarters on Via Lainate 24, and will be open to visitors until January 11, every afternoon from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
