Il Matrimonio Segreto: the brilliant comedy on stage at Villa Burba!
A special event is set to enliven the city’s cultural scene, in the refined setting of Villa Burba Cornaggia Medici, a prestigious cultural venue in the city. On the program, ‘Il Matrimonio Segreto‘, an adaptation of the famous comic opera by Domenico Cimarosa: a brilliant comedy of misunderstandings, where hidden loves, clandestine marriages, and family subterfuge intertwine in a vortex of irony and lightness. The protagonists are Carolina and Paolino, young spouses in great secret, who try to keep their union hidden from her father, while around them inappropriate suitors, jealous sisters, and bumbling uncles multiply… all accompanied by the liveliness of 18th-century music and a storytelling pace that is overwhelming! It will be an unmissable opportunity to rediscover a masterpiece of Italian musical theater in a more streamlined and accessible version, without sacrificing its brilliant spirit and timeless charm. An evening of music and theater, immersed in the charm of a place that tells the story and beauty of our city.
