Mandala. Inner Peace and Universal Ethics
The Mandala represents one of the highest spiritual, as well as artistic, expressions of the Buddhist tradition and is the result of a long and meticulous work, which can last days, by monks specialized and authorized in carrying out this practice. The making of the Mandala culminates with its dissolution, reminding us of the impermanence of everything.
From 6 to 10 May 2025 at the Tourist Infopoint in Piazza San Vittore di Rho, it will be possible to live the experience of observing some Tibetan monks, from the monastery of Drepung Gomang, during the creation of a new mandala.
On Saturday 10 May, at 4.00 pm, the Mandala just finished will be dissolved and the colored sand will be distributed to those present in Piazza San Vittore in small bags.
During the days of the creation of the Mandala, on Friday 9 May at 9.00 pm there will be a meeting with the Venerable Buddhist monk Othok Rinpoche at 9.00 pm on the theme of “Inner Peace and Universal Ethics”, or how the mind can be trained to greater calm and harmony, to face events with balance and serenity and promote a process of development of positive qualities such as patience, compassion and greater understanding between people, and consequently change the vision of external reality, with a responsible approach aimed at peace. The initiative is organized in collaboration with the Ghe Pel Ling Institute of Tibetan Buddhism Studies in Milan, of which Othok Rinpoche is resident master.
