In 1878 in this beautiful building, entirely covered with a Canadian vine that makes it unique and characteristic, the Giuseppe Citterio Salumificio was born, a success story that spans five generations and makes it one of the many excellences of Rho.

An excellence of Rho in the world

It is one of the oldest companies in the food sector in all of Italy and has grown to be known all over the world as a real institution in the production of Italian cured meats.
Its story begins with the founder Giuseppe Citterio, a young butcher who, after a period of internship in Milan, opened his delicatessen in Rho.
Citterio's expansion continued until the Second World War, when production stopped completely following the military occupation of the Rho plant. After the war, Citterio started from scratch and in a short time regained its role as a protagonist in the delicatessen sector.
The factories have multiplied to open one in the United States.
