The Ellipses by Cino Zucchi

Elements of modernity in the heart of the historic center

In San Vittore Square we find the urban layout designed by the CZA – Cino Zucchi Architetti studio, curator of the Italian Pavilion Venice Biennale of Architecture 2014, which with the inclusion of elliptical seats in cement grit redefines the central spatial basin of the city

Address:

Piazza San Vittore, Rho MI

Innovative urban furniture elements, but perfectly inserted in the context

CZA's choice was to design furnishing elements with a clean and discreet geometry but with a recognizable character: ellipses of stone consistency, capable of becoming a formal reference for inhabitants and visitors like those small architectures - newsstands, curbstones, fountains - which constitute a minute but extremely significant complement in our daily perception of the urban landscape.
Their shape, size and position in the existing space are carefully studied in relation to the elements of the context: the church of San Vittore Martire, the votive column and the optical axis of Via Matteotti.
